    FINANCIAL SUPPORT AND ADVISING

Whether you need financial assistance from the start or find yourself a little short during the school year, we have funding options for you.

From awards and scholarships to student loans, bursaries, and emergency funding, our advisors can help guide you to the right support.

One of the things I think that any student, if you ask what do you have the least stuff, it's definitely time. And so not having to work, not having to spend time looking for work opportunities to support your education allows me to be on campus and to explore and ultimately have that university experience, where you can fully immerse yourself into the community.

Receiving scholarships really helped me to focus on school and meeting friends. And they helped me all throughout the application process and the U of A process is a lot easier than a lot of the other schools to, so that made it easier. For the scholarships that I received from the U of A, I got a couple. One of them was called the Fly Home award. So this allowed me to fly home and visit my family on the holidays.

Looking on the U of A websites, I remember scrolling through they were academic scholarships, sports-based scholarships, you have merit-based scholarships. So there's really something for everyone and that I thought was very, very valuable, because being able to have the opportunity to have that support during my degree, gave me the comfort to know that I would always be able to afford my degree. I think that's everyone's biggest fear leaving universities, how much debt am I going to be in? So the fact that the you have a sort of put so many balances in place to support students throughout their academic journey was definitely a selling feature for me.
