“Growing up, I was constantly astounded by the beauty of the outdoors, and wanted to find a profession that allowed me to be closer to it. When I discovered the forestry program here at the U of A, I knew this was exactly what I wanted to pursue. Throughout my degree I have learned how crucial forests are to all living beings, and that with careful, sustainable management, forests can provide us with a renewable resource that can be maintained for many generations. With this knowledge, I hope to one day make a significant impact on how our forests are managed and how we can ensure they are enjoyed for hundreds of years to come. I feel incredibly honoured and privileged to have been part of the U of A’s forestry program — which, fun fact, is actually ranked 5th in the world!”
